+ What is Founders & Funders: ASEAN Tech All-Stars?
F&F: ATAS is Malaysia Northern Region’s premier Investor-Founder pitching and networking event between top tier regional VCs and high-potential tech startups, with a strong focus on those from Semicon, AI, Deep-tech and Hard-tech sectors in the ASEAN region.
Featuring multiple stellar panels of renowned speakers from US$1B+ AUM Venture Capital firms, Leading Government Agencies and Unicorn Startups who’ll provide invaluable info and insights into the region’s tech startup landscape in the era of AI, Quantum Computing and IR 5.0.
Selected startups also have the opportunity to pitch to potential investors (VCs, ECF, P2P, Govt Grants) during the private pitching session for Seed or Series A funding, with a chance to raise up to RM20 million.
+ How does the private pitching work?
Only the top 15 startups who meet the following minimum criteria and are vetted by our panel of judges will be selected for the private pitching.
- Be a Semicon, AI, Deep-tech, Hard-Tech or related high-tech company, or;
- Provide enterprise-level solutions to larger companies in the above-mentioned sectors, and;
- Looking for Seed or Series A investment.
- Be at least 2 years old.
- At least RM1 million annual revenue.
- Able/willing to raise at least RM1 million funds in exchange for min. 20% equity (i.e. at least RM5 million valuation).
- No criminal/litigation history.
On the morning of the event day, they will each have 10 mins (per session) to pitch to a maximum of 3 groups of investors:
- Venture Capitalists
- Govt Agencies
- Equity Crowdfunding/Peer-to-Peer Financing
in a round-robin style. All pitch deck submissions need to be done through the form link provided.
+ If I’m not selected to pitch, can I still attend the panel talks and networking dinner?
Absolutely! You can still attend the afternoon and evening sessions to network and gain insights from the investors and other key ecosystem players.
+ I'd like to exhibit at the event, are there booth packages available?
Yes, we have startup booths available @RM500 nett each (Ts & Cs apply). Each booth consists of:
a) 1x 2 by 5 feet oblong table with cover
b) 2x chairs
c) 1x 24″ monitor + power supply
This setup is ideal for you to display your marketing material like flyers, brochures, rollup banner and PPT presentation.

Yes, there are 230 free parking spots in our main carpark, right in front of the main building.
+ What's the dress code?
Smart casual is fine.
+ Is there a prayer room?
Yes, our suraus are located at the back of Deck 4.
+ Is there public transport available to get to The Ship Campus?
Unfortunately not, so if you’re not driving, we recommend you use e-hailing (Grab or InDrive) to travel to and from here.
+ Is there a hotel nearby?
Yes, the closest hotel is the Upper House (4 stars, 4.5km away). You may ring them directly on 04-545 0000 and mention that you’re a partner of The Ship to get a special rate of only RM180/night for a suite (normally RM200+). https://www.upper-house.com
