Timothy was a student in the UK when a chance meeting through friends introduced him to Cheo Ming Shen. In 2007 the pair launched Nuffnang and helped build the creator economy before it had a name. At 23, Timothy was the youngest on BusinessWeek’s list of Asia’s 25 best young entrepreneurs, and the only Malaysian. Nuffnang’s parent company, Netccentric, later listed on the Australian Securities Exchange in 2015.
After leaving Netccentric, he moved from digital to bricks and mortar, launching Colony in 2017 with his wife, Audrey Ooi. He speaks candidly about building, exiting and starting again in a completely different industry.

In 2016 he left banking to co-found PolicyStreet, which makes insurance simpler, more affordable and easier to access. It was named one of Forbes Asia’s 100 to Watch in 2023. Shirmein Leong
The Circle Ventures | Co Founder
Shirmein Leong is the co-founder of DeliverEat, Penang’s first online food delivery platform, which AirAsia’s logistics arm, Teleport, acquired for US$9.8 million in 2021.
She started DeliverEat in 2012 with her husband, Tan Suan Sear, with just two riders and one restaurant. It was also the first platform to let customers combine orders from different restaurants into a single delivery. Without large funding, the couple grew it across Penang and the Klang Valley and delivered more than a million orders.
After the acquisition, Shirmein joined Teleport as Head of On-Demand. Tony Fernandes later compared their journey to AirAsia’s early fight against far bigger airlines. She shares what it takes to build, defend and eventually sell a homegrown startup from Penang.
Anthony See
FlowGo | Co-Founder
Anthony See is co-founder and CEO of FlowGo, a Kuala Lumpur AI startup whose AI agents turn invoices and purchase orders sent by WhatsApp, Telegram and email into entries in a company’s accounting software. Founded in 2025 and backed by Startmate and Google for Startups, it serves SMEs in Malaysia, Singapore, Australia and Thailand.
He spent more than a decade as a software developer and solutions architect, including at Intel, before investing in an F&B venture. It failed, and he saw exactly why: disorganised inventory and manual ordering were quietly draining the business.
In 2017 he and Shayna Teh co-founded Food Market Hub to fix exactly that. It raised US$12.5 million in Series A funding and grew to serve about 3,000 F&B operators. Anthony speaks about turning a business failure into software, and building again in the age of AI agents.

Penang-born, Clarence started out as an aerospace engineer in the UK, then came home in 2010 to become an entrepreneur. His first two ventures, the deals site EziVoucher and the free magazine EasyCorner, taught him hard lessons about scale.
He launched EasyParcel in 2014. It reached RM25 million in revenue by 2016 and later raised Series B funding from AirAsia and Gobi Partners. It now serves businesses in Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Cambodia, Vietnam, Canada and Australia, and counts listed logistics group GDEX as a strategic shareholder. In 2023 the company opened a working café in PJ Midtown that doubles as a retail tech experience centre.

In 2022 he co-founded ArmourZero with Chong Wai Lun. Its cloud-based platform combines AI-powered application security with round-the-clock managed detection and response, and the company is a licensed provider under Malaysia’s National Cyber Security Agency. Kit Hoong speaks about practical cyber defence for growing businesses and making security accessible to businesses of every size.
Chuah Di Ken
Pingspace Robotics | CEO & Founder
Chuah Di Ken is founder and CEO of Pingspace, a Penang company that builds robotic storage systems to help warehouses process orders faster.
He studied food science at the University of Leeds, but spent much of his time there teaching himself to code and planning a business. Living in the UK, he noticed that online orders arrived the next day, while Malaysians usually waited two or three. He wanted to close that gap.
Back in Penang, he set up a micro-logistics company at 24, then founded Pingspace. He led his team to build the entire robotics system from scratch in about three years, has deployed projects in Penang and signed an exclusive distributor in Thailand. Di Ken shares a young founder’s view of building deep-tech hardware in Malaysia and bringing automation within reach of smaller warehouses.
